Oh wait, this time, he’s caused a heart attack, of one of his best friends and supporters! While on a hunting trip for Quayle, I mean quail, the story goes that the Vice President “accidentally” shot his friend with a shotgun. Oops! So beyond the incredibly hilarious story, we have to wonder about the medical side!
Can you even imagine being an intern, describing a case study of a man who suffered a myocardial infarction after fragments shotgun pellets entered the myocardium? That’s got to be a publishable case, something fit for the Case Studies of the Massachusetts General Hospital? I wonder if the cardiologists are recommending standard MI treatments: antiplatelet agents, aspirin, maybe rushing him off to the Cath Lab? I don’t see that there would be too many cases of this floating out there to do a literature search on it!
Well, at least it makes one hell of a story for morning report! -Fool
