Ask first, Rank later!

As a first, per the NRMP Match website, for the 2005 NRMP Resident Match, residencies must now provide a copy of the contract for residents BEFORE they submit ranklists! Now, you can see all your health benefits, 401K, salaries, policies before you have ranked your programs and in essence signed your life away. This is great…

Will mean a LOT of paperwork to read, but at least will help alleviate concerns of residencies taking advantage of residents… wonder if this is in response to the lawsuit against the NRMP match.

From NRMP; “Beginning with the 2005 Main Residency Match, graduate medical education programs will be required to provide interviewees, prior to the February rank order list deadline, with a copy of the contract they would be expected to sign if matched to the program.” NRMP Match Press Release

More good news overall for NRMP Match Applicants
