Episode of ‘Friends’ Makes it to Pediatrics journal

And this just in! More fascinating “evidence” from the AAP: Impact of Condom-Efficacy Information in an Episode of Friends by Collins et al is a fascinating article. Basically it states, “TV is not all bad.” Exactly WHO funds this sort of ridiculous research? I wonder, who thought up the idea, did statistics and a survey on it, simply to conclude that TV can teach?? Ever heard of the Discovery Channel Amazing! Even more amazing, is the fact that an article investigating PDA closure with ibuprofen was relegated to the “ePediatrics” online journal, yet this groundbreaking piece made it to the main journal. Most stunning, is that a bunch of “peer review” types sat around and read this article and allowed it to be published as “research”!! C’mon guys, is there no research in Pediatrics these days?? -Fool
